thanks Jason @ RJC Racing.

Jason,
I just got my first look at this CAT piece. I have done about 17 to 20 installations of your unit. I took a look at the CAT thing and sent this customer packing. He tried at first to tell me it was some new and improved thing. I didn't see your logo and figured it was some off brand wannabe. The pan bolt holes DID NOT line up. I showed the customer bysetting it on a block in the engine room. He didn't want to hear it. I didn't want that caliber of customer anyway. I really appreciate the thought and craftsmanship involved in the design, development, and manufacture of your girdle. Any Buick enthusiast that couldn't appreciate the difference in quality between the two girdles should not consider themselves to be a Buick enthusiast.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks,

Hey Jace
I just wanted to give you an update on the head gaskets on my car. As you know I blew the Cometic head gasket in the second round of qualifying at the Nationals but continued to race the car. I torched the head in the semi finals costing me any real chance facing you in the final even though the motor had never been detonated and run at 25lbs of boost or below. When I returned home I had the head repaired and tried another set of Cometics as they are supposed to be the best on the market particularly for the 8 bolt application. I raced at the BPG Nationals with them and their intake gaskets as well which leaked fuel every pass. After the final round there my water temps were elevated . Seeing the writing on the wall I removed the heads again for inspection finding the Cometics had failed again. The motor again had never been detonated and run at only 23lbs of boost though I did foul the plugs causing some misfiring which may have contributed to the failure. That is when I decided to give the steel shims with your modification a try I followed your instructions for installation and liked the end result.
The only problem I had with the change from Cometics was the gasket thickness difference caused my RJC head clamps to interfere with my headers (though they appeared to be sealed) causing an exhaust leak. The result was losing in the final (again) at Norwalk to a car that was a full second slower because the car wouldn't spool. The good news is the head gaskets showed no signs of trouble again run at 25lbs of boost.Four of the passes were sub 10 seconds and a best of 9.82.. The next day I pulled the engine to fix the exhaust leak so I retorqued the heads (which were quite loose) but there was no signs of leakage. Two days later I left for the Midwest challenge where I made several more 9 second passes and a new best of 9.77 @ 139.9 and I actually won the finals for a change, again max of 25lbs..
On Sunday I entered Quick 8 V6 I turned the boost to 27 lbs I took 3 teeth off the ring gear and 1 off the pinion. I felt it and heard it but the car acted ok and pulled strait so I stayed in it, the shut down was a nightmare with the car leaping off the ground. The car still managed a 9.7's @139.9 with a ton of drag in the rear
Tonight I tore the motor down to freshen it for the 2005 TSM season and the head gaskets were perfect with ABSOLUTELY no signs of leakage. I feel confident I could have run the car for the entire season with just a few retorques. I am sending you this long winded story so you can share my experience with others and use this as just another testimonial for your innovations and great products if you like...
Give me a shout when you get a chance.

I got the intercooler no problems, and I have to say, that your intercooler was the best designed product I have ever purchased for any of my Buicks ever. Very simple install, everything perfectly lined up, pipes were bent perfectly everything about it was great. It took me and my buddy Steve all of 15 minutes to install it. The hardest part was removing the nut backing plates where the upper bolts go. They were stubborn. I really like the setup. I took the car around the block for second and the spool up with the new 6776RHP turbo and the fm IC is phenomenal. I have no doubt she will run 11.30s now. My coolant temps never got over 168*. Given it wasn't too hot at 77* ambient, but I don't think I'll have any problems.

Again, thanks for the IC, now that I own one and have installed it, I can sing the praises of it to all my friends. I'm a believer.
On another note, hopefully you should be getting the 3" downpipe for ATR headers either today or tomorrow.

Thanks again Jason.
